I have been interested in steam railways for as long as I can remember.
I spent many hours train spotting from about 1952-55, then I took an interest in railway signalling, visiting 23 signal boxes. I worked for British Railways from September 1958 to June 1963, starting in Kidsgrove Booking Office (6 miles north of Stoke-on-Trent) and finishing at Brent (Cricklewood, North-West London) as a goods guards clerk.
Very good websites about railways can be found by clicking “Links” above.
A few have copies of some photos from my website.
